We are delighted to invite you to the “Heritage Meets Science 2” conference, on Friday 23 October 2026, at TU the Sky, TU Wien (Getreidemarkt 9, Vienna) and online.
This edition marks an important step for our community. The Heritage Science Austria Meeting, held roughly every year since 2019, now takes place for the first time under the umbrella of E-RIHS.at. Since June 2026, the Austrian national node has been an official member of E-RIHS ERIC.
Throughout the day, the newly funded projects of the OeAW’s Heritage Science Austria (HSA 2.0) programme will present their work. Topics include historic copper surfaces, iron architecture of the Austrian monarchy, prisoner tags from Mauthausen, AI-powered fungal detection in collections, Renaissance book production, underwater cultural heritage, archaeological legacy data and mimeographed documents.
We’ll close with discussion and wine from 17:10. 🍷
📩 Registration is required for both on-site and online participation, and is open until 22 October. Please email Maria.DAnna(at)oeaw.ac.at.
Co-organised with Klaudia Hradil (TU Wien) and Maria Bianca D’Anna (OeAI–OeAW, University of Innsbruck).
